Ireland is exactly how I imagined it. Pleasant, country, slow paced, and green, green, green. We saw a castle today…Bunratty castle. The name means it is situated at the “end of the Raitty River and the castle grounds were graced by two very large Irish wolf Hounds…quite friendly however. Zooey! The furnishings represented the originals and the rooms looked as though they had just been abandoned. Those poor women in tiny little rooms with their husband’s tin armour hanging on the wall and straw on the floor to absorb the dirty smells of medieval living. Look at the “kitchen” with pheasants hanging on the wall ready for the fire spit! The size of the elk horns on the wall in the great room would astound most hunters. But what a hard life. I would not have liked to have lived in this medieval castle….
